World Environment Day 2021

By admin on June 16, 2021

The United Nations’ main vehicle for increasing awareness and action for environmental conservation is World Environment Day (WED), which is observed annually on June 5th. It has served as a venue for raising awareness on environmental issues such as marine pollution, human overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption, and wildlife crime since its inception in 1974.

Every year, over 143 countries participate in World Environment Day, which serves as a global forum for public outreach. Each year, the program provides a subject and a platform for corporations, non-profits, towns, governments, and celebrities to fight for environmental problems.

The goal of World Environment Day is to raise environmental awareness and conservation. According to the United Nations, “the remembrance of this day provides us with an opportunity to broaden the basis for educated thought and responsible behavior by individuals, businesses, and communities in safeguarding and improving the environment.”

The day is commemorated by bringing together governments, corporations, celebrities, and citizens to focus on a serious environmental issue.

So, today, we’d like you to consider how you, as a person, have made a good impact on the environment and what you can do to improve it.

The world will not get better if you don’t get involved.
